Weather gear off, option A.
My first outing in the 7 (apart from the SVA test) was in the pouring rain, with no doors. Awesome fun Just take it easy.

Echo the first two unless it's really hissing down, in which case stick the hood on.
Suggest you look at a Jill Judd half hood at sometime too.
And ........... CONGRATULATIONS

Hood up. Get home the easiest way. When the weather improves remove the hood and start the learn the car. |

Picked my first ever se7en up from just outside Weston-super-Mare in the dry. Overnighted with friends just down the road. Got up the next day . . . torrential rain
Left the hood down, zipped on the passenger side tonneau, borrowed a cagoule off my friend, pulled my beanie hat down to just above my eyes and headed for the Fosse Way.
I stayed on that road, up hill and down dale until just North of Coventry and back home. Fabulous as limited overtaking doesn't apply to se7ens. Felt I really got to know the old girl that day; and her me too probably!
Enjoy it; there's nothing like that first time

If it's wet be very careful, especially if it has "Caterham standard" tyres. Particularly diesel-soaked roundabouts |

Presume you are picking up from Millwood?
Definitely choose Cotswold route, driving a Seven on a Motorway is not my idea of fun, especially M5 M42 M40 0n a Friday!
Hope you enjoy the run back , as long as it hasn't an aero once you are over 40/50 the rain won't bother you, just the fine spray that gets on the inside of the screen. |

Correct, it is from Millwood. Also shod with Avon 322s, so should be ok in the wet.
Weather forecast changing all the time, at the mo, says light rain. In any case, I think I'll go for it, and definitiely over the hills rather than motorways.
Normal screen, and it has full hood or half hood. I'll try the half hood first if it gets too wet.. can't wait will be a total adventure

Go and get it , the weather will probably change by then.
When I collected my R400 from CC in Caterham it pi55ed down the whole way home whilst stuck in a 2 hour jam on the M25 it was still fun though.

Hire a fully enclosed trailer - pick her up - get home - give her a nice rub down and a good thick coat of autoglym - a nice buff up and a quick sorn until the sunshine reveals herself next year - meantime keep her warm and dry with a nice cover over her........
Remove cover and polish as required, building up those layers |

Don't push the 322's in the wet, see previous postings. Second thoughts, just don't push it in the wet.

It's green with small yellow noseband and stripe, the classic colours. I do like the colour, though my favourite is orange/black combo. Bought the car on condition, which is pretty much showroom

Did the Sossages run with a half hood. Wet on the way out but torrential on the way back on M23,25 and 40 to High Wycombe. Snug as a bug thoughout though the boot got damp and my right shoulder got a bit sprayed. But it didn't get fugged up as it will with a full hood and you are closer to nature..... possibly too close if you paddle too hard, though. Give my regards to Jon and tell him the smile has just got wider and wider. Phil |

CR322s are total **** in the wet! Well, maybe my rubbish driving but I found them a nightmare so be very very careful! I did not find them to key into the tarmac, instead driving ontop of the water rather than cutting through. As a result, half throttle made the car very sideways...Tried to do a long motorway stint in the peeing rain-only did about 10 miles at about 30mph. Decided it was too dangerous and returned to get the tintop...
As soon as you get home, get some Yoko A021Rs and then be able to relax and have some fun!
Don't mean to alarm but take it easy... |
