On behalf of the Solent Se7ens I have organised 3 trackdays at Castle Combe to help raise some funds for charity while we can enjoy some great days out. The rates we have are discounted and I am running them on a 'not for profit' basis, so anything we make over the costs will go to charity split equally between The Red & White Appeal and Nuke the Leuk.

These are not Lotus 7 Club trackdays - this means that other cars are welcome to join us (even Elise's and 21's!) and you do not need an FIA roll bar. Cars must be roadworthy and drivers must hold a licence (race cars are allowed if they pass the noise test).

There are 36 places for each event and the format will be 3 sessions per hour for 12 cars per session (split roughly by experience - Note: cars with slicks must book session 3) - so 20 minutes slots on a fairly quiet track - this should provide plenty of track time.

Dates and prices:

Friday 26th March at £120 per car

Monday 17th May at £165 per car

Monday 16th August at £165 per car

There will be small additional charges for second drivers, passengers and instruction (all details on our website), these are probably the best prices you'll ever see for a trackday at this venuecool smiley

Full details and booking forms are available here, these will no doubt sell out very quickly (March is already over half full) so please get booking forms and cheques to me ASAP if you are interested. I'll run a reserve list so people can swap out if circumstances change. I will allocate people to their chosen groups as best I can but as there are only 12 cars per group not everyone will get their first choice. If you are sendiing in a booking form please email me as well so I know what to expect.

Castle Combe management have specifically asked me to make 2 things very clear -

1. The noise limit will be strictly enforced100db(A) at 0.5m at 4500rpm so if in doubt you can either pop to the circuit when they are running a trackday to get tested, or you can consider additional silencing. On the day Castle Combes decision is final - you have been warned!

2. Drivers must pay particular attention to the briefing regarding Quarry bend - too many people have been introduced to the tyre wall there and we don't want to add to the list please!

These exclusive events will be run as fun and friendly days so courteous driving standards are not optional! Spectators are most welcome so please come and join us!

If you have any questions please contact me steve@solentse7ens.co.uk or blatmail.

There have been some spectactular and frightening crashes there during races, mostly at Quarry (hence the special briefing needed) - but to be honest if you drive sensibly the chances of a crash are very slim. The approach to Quarry is very fast and there is a bit of a crest just at the point you might want to brake - so the car can go light causing the wheels lock and you might not make the corner! The clear advice given at the briefing is to brake a little before the crest and a little more after it then you'll have no troubles. It is a great circuitthumbs up You'll love itcool smiley

Steve - good news that the Ring Tamer is going to be there. It would be a great opportunity to follow him round the ciruit and understand how he manages to maintain his pace.
I'm looking forward to it - i might pick up a few tips toothy smiley
