Sadly if the 330d kept his foot down it would go faster than even a R500...

Toatally agree with John re. the performance of modern day cars v the 7, especially when both are on the move..........OK, for a quick dash from zero a decent 200bhp+ 7 can usually make its point against most things before the speed limit is reached or as mentioned on the twisties etc....................but experience now makes me think of tractors coming out of fields so thats out too.

In all honesty mid range grunt has been totally redefined for me since I bought my lowly 4.0 litre Chimaera and thus being invited out in a couple of the lads 5.0 litre Griffs and a 4.5 Cerberablushing smiley............now they do have mid range grunt, and lots of it, which even the Beemer just couldn't compete withthumbs up

Cerbera 4.5 with 350lbft vs BMW 535d with 500+lbft smiley. The diesel has massive torque from idle, whereas you need to rev the Cerbera over 3500rpm to really get moving. It definitely sounds better though!
